Talented young soloists and ensembles from Hampshire schools and UK music colleges are coached by the

Primrose Piano Quartet

in St John the Evangelist.
Members of the audience may drop in and out as they like during the session.
Duration approximately two hours.

Gabriella Jones

is one of the most exciting young harpists to emerge onto the concert scene in recent years.
Her programme will include works by:


Debussy, Tchaikovsky, Janáček, Liszt and Nino Rota.

Simon Callow

narrates Poe's gothic horror story with

André Caplet

's atmospheric setting of the tale "Conte Fantastique" for Harp and String Quartet.
After the interval he reads Tennyson's poem Enoch Arden, set to music by Richard Strauss.
The concert starts with Janáček's first String Quartet "Kreutzer Sonata", inspired by Tolstoy's tale of passion, jealousy and murder.


Simon appears at WMMF subject to confirmation in summer 2019, see the website for updates.

Ticket price includes a glass of wine. Concert ends at 10pm.
